RANTING TIME! Papelitos Stamp Challenge blog strikes again!! **** Edited with new Info ***

Hiya Peeps!

This morning I woke with an email from another blogger friend giving me the heads up that Papelitos Stamp Challenge blog has one of my cards there under "DT Inspiration".

Now seeing as no one in their right mind want to be associated with them, I left a comment on the post asking them to remove my card as I did not give my permission to use it for that challenge.  The comments is waiting approval.  Needless to say, it will never be published!  I need to also mention that when they just started, I was approached by Christina and asked if I had wanted to be on the DT.  I had a look at her stamps and thought - why not!  We would receive stamps on almost a weekly basis, and her style had changed DRAMATICALLY!!  If you are an artist, your way of creating does not change overnight!

The first warning flags went up when she emailed us all an image claiming it was one of her "older" drawing.  I immediately recognized the image as on of Sureya's on Deviant Art.  Sureya has awesome talent and I follow her almost obsessively!  She was also suppose to sponsor some of our challenges and I feverishly had to scramble to get new ones!  Then the pawpaw hit the fan (so to speak).  It was all over Facebook.  She had several different artist art in her store claiming to be her own.  When confronted about it, she said she had permission to use and sell them.  Only thing is, she could never back up that claim, and the artist also knew nothing about it.

What to do!!

I reported her to Blogger's legal department for Copyright Infringement.

Here is the email :

**** THE UPDATE ***

Blogger had gone ahead and removed her complete post.  I see now a few hours later she has the post up again with "other" cards.

I need to say that I am not a fighter.  I live in my Crafty little world where everything is peaches and roses.  But this person has now gone too far.  She has little regard for other's and just keeps on coming back.

So I had just left her a very nice comment (which will never get published!) telling her that every time she uses a card she is not suppose to or whatever!, I will be right there to report her to blogger.

WHOO-HOO!!!!

  2. OOH Wendy, is she still at it?? A blogfriend of mine here in Holland was so thrilled to be on her DT and after 2 weeks she wrote on het blog that she was so diddapointed cause after having doubts she now knew for sure that all the drawings were "stolen" and so not from her hand so she asap quite the job!! Hope someone will teach her a lesson soon and thanks for taking these steps Wendy!

  3. Fantastic. They have been doing this to a bunch of bloggy companions who at one timer another agreed to design or guest DT for them. So sad and pathetic and I am sorry this happened to you! Hope you get positive results. Olivia xx

Surely there have been other reports of her as I know quite a few people have been blogging about her in recent times!!! I have deleted anything to do with papelitos off my blog and no longer follow her!! Hope this gets sorted sooner rather than later!! HUgsxx

  6. Hi Wendy - I'm going through the same thing with Papelitos I have asked them to delete my name from DT and not to keep publishing old art work at current but like you my comment is waiting approval. I had thought originally to ignore this in the hope they would just stop but it hasn't happened yet. As I suffer with ill health and crafting for me is a therapy I could do with out all this hastle - let's hope they get fed up as I only ever did half a dozen cards!
    Best wishes, Sharon

  8. I'm with you 100% on this one. I hate drama and fighting and all that, but this "Papelitos" crap had me FUMING. I cannot believe she's still running her challenge blog and selling her images - although the only ones left are crappy ones, since the cute ones were all being stolen/sold and she kept getting caught and had to remove them. Anyway, sending you a crafty hug! :)
